B-Grpr-iCre mice
Strain Name

C57BL/6-Grprtm1(icre)Bcgen/Bcgen

Stock No.  110125
Common name

B-Grpr-iCre mice

Gene symbol and name  Grpr(gastrin releasing peptide receptor), GR; GRP-R
Strain of origin

C57BL/6

Chromosome  X
Coat color Black Dietary information Growth and reproduction diet for experimental mice
NCBI Gene ID
14829

Application

  • Function research of genes
  • This GrpriCre model is an efficient tool to study various gene functions when crossed with mice with different loxP site-flanked genes of interest, especially in studies of pruritogenic stimuli, long-term potentiation (LTP) and amygdala-dependent memory for fear.

Expression

Expressed gene

iCre, improved cre recombinase, bacteriophage P1

Site of expression

mouse Grp is highly expressed both in the lateral nucleus of the amygdala, the nucleus where associations for pavlovian learned fear are formed, and in the regions that convey fearful auditory information to the lateral nucleus.

Gene editing strategy

from clipboard

An F2A-iCre sequence cassette was placed between the coding sequence of exon 3 and 3’UTR of the Grpr gene in C57BL/6 ES cells. This strain was maintained on a C57BL/6 genetic background.

Phenotype Analysis
